THE Cheriton Talks return early next year to raise funds for the village church.

Five talks have been arranged with eminent speakers and proceeds going to St Michael’s church.

The first will be Saturday February 14 when Peter Hennessy, journalist and historian, will speak on The Condition of British Politics.

The schedule is:
Saturday February 21: Douglas Skeggs, art historian, of The Pilgrims of Babylon- the Artists of Montmartre.

Saturday February 28: the Rt Rev James Newcome, Bishop of Carlisle, speaking on On Dying Well.

Saturday March 7: Noreen Riols, a member of the Special Operations Executive in the Second World War, on My Life in Churchill’s School for Spies.

Saturday March 14: Kevin O’Hare, director of the Royal Ballet Company, on The Royal Ballet – Past and Present.

All talks are held in the church with a glass of wine from 7pm and the talk starting at 8pm. Tickets are £12, children free; and will be available from mid-January. Enquiries to Penny Scott on 01962 771263.
