A SECOND public consultation is to be held for a proposed 350-house development in Winchester.

On Monday (Dec 8) Linden Homes will be on hand to talk about their proposition to build at Pitt Vale, between Enmill Lane and the Badger Farm roundabout.

The exhibition goes on show from 2.30-7.30pm at the Tower at Kings School in Romsey Road.

In a letter to constituents ward councillors Brian Laming, Jan Warwick and Mike Southgate said: “Any development in this area outside of the agreed Local Plan will be resisted by Winchester City Council for the following reasons; it exceeds the proposed residential requirement for the district and is outside the residential boundary.

“The development is not in accordance with the council’s Local Plan Part I nor is it required under Local Plan Part II. There is therefore no requirement to build on additional green field sites.”

Parish councillors have urged residents to comment on the consultation by emailing LPP2@winchester.gov.uk or writing to Winchester City Council by noon of Friday December 5. Alternatively comments can be submitted online by visiting winchester.gov.uk/planning-policy/local-plan-part-2/lpp2-draft-plan.

Anyone wishing to know more is urged to contacted the developer by calling 0800 2987040 or by email at feedback@consultation-online.co.uk.
