A SPECIAL presentation of one man’s endless battle to survive is to be shown near Stockbridge.

The story of wartime combat pilot and post-war test pilot Allan Scott is entitled Born to Survive and will be presented at Middle Wallop Museum on Thursday, November 6, at 7pm.

Mr Scott became a fighter pilot in 1941 with this first squadron at Biggin Hill. He was soon sent to battle at Malta for which he was awarded the Distinguished Flying Medal.

He went onto test-fly over 80 different aircraft types following the end of the war coming close to several disasters.

Paul Beaver, chairman of the AFA, said: “Allan Scott’s life story promises to be another interesting talk in the winter series of lectures presented by the Army Flying Association and the Museum of Army Flying at Middle Wallop.

“All are welcome at £5 on the door but pre-booking is essential for the optional supper and wine.”
