A NEW bridleway allowing pedestrians, horse riders and cyclists to travel from Bishop’s Waltham to Botley without the danger of traffic is in the pipeline.
The proposed route would follow the valley of the River Hamble through Curdridge, connecting the towns’ equestrian facilities and raising potential for more recreation in the area.
Currently the only direct route between the towns is on the busy B3035, where bends and a lack of pavements pose a threat to walkers and equestrians.
Bishop’s Waltham Parish Council is expected to pursue the project. Councillors will work with landowners, other parish councils and larger public bodies to negotiate a route, raise money and purchase land for the bridleway.
