A HARESTOCK cadet instructor bathed in baked beans to raise money for muscular dystrophy research.
Greg McCall, 27, took the plunge outside River Park Leisure Centre to raise cash for the Muscular Dystrophy Campaign.
He raised almost £100 for research into Duchenne muscular dystrophy, a life-threatening muscle degenerative condition which mostly affects boys.
Mr McCall, an Army Cadet Force instructor, learning support practitioner and lifeguard, chose the charity because his friend’s eldest son suffers from Duchenne.
He said: “The donations towards the research will hopefully support families and health professionals with understanding the condition providing effective support to the children diagnosed.”
He was joined in the tub by Louise Wright, who raised £285 for Piam Brown Ward at Southampton General Hospital. Louise babysits a six-year-old boy who was recently diagnosed with cancer.
