LITTLETON and Harestock Parish Council are facing another costly repair bill.

Just days after spending £300 to repair the damaged crash barrier at the entrance of the Memorial Hall car park, on Hall Way, the barrier has been knocked so badly out of shape it is almost unusable.

The parish council now faces a bill of up to £1000 to repair it, and it is unknown who caused the damage on Sunday March 16.

Parish clerk, Chris Tee, said the council will have to ‘find’ the money.“We will have to dig deep. It can stop high vehicles coming through, and we can’t really open it at the moment. The money could have gone to any number of good things - we haven’t set aside for that. It could have been used for enhancing our facilities.”

FINAL plans for street lighting in Kings Worthy will soon be revealed.

On April 2 between 10am and 2pm SSE will hold an open meeting at Tubbs Hall, Kings Worthy Community Centre.

The presentation will give the public the opportunity to see the development for themselves and ask any questions they may have.

THERE are some new residents in Littleton.

Two ducks have made the pond on Main Road their home, bringing some cheer to the village that has had to deal with the aftermath of this winters extreme flooding.

Many homes have been forced to use portable toilets as a result of flooding of their septic tanks, and it seems that after almost a month of going without sewerage some homes are returning to normal.

The parish council has said they have received several calls asking for the toilets to be removed.
