PREPARATIONS are under way for an amateur dramatics society’s next big show near Winchester.

The Worthy Players, whose ranks include residents from Kings Worthy, Headbourne Worthy, Abbots Worthy and Martyr Worthy, have started rehearsals for The Militants by Norman Holland, and are due to perform in April.

The group, which was founded in 1973 by members of the local Women’s Institute, has previously performed Murdered to Death in 2013, and The Importance of Being Ernest in 2008, to name a few.

They meet on Tuesdays and Wednesdays at the Jubilee Hall on London Road in Kings Worthy, and the show kicks off on April 25 at 7.30pm with performances on April 25-26 and May 2-3.

Tickets will be available nearer the time.
