Vandal jailed for High Street shop attack

A VANDAL who kicked in a Winchester shop door window has been jailed for 56 days by magistrates.

Paul Davis, 30, of no fixed abode, attacked the door at Far Face on the High Street in the early hours of Tuesday February 2.

Davis pleaded guilty to criminal damage when he appeared at Basingstoke magistrates Court.

Sgt Stuart Gilmour, of North Walls police station, explained how Davis was detained: “It was excellent work by the CCTV. The CCTV in Winchester is really good. We get a lot of positive results.”
