STUDENTS could be the stars of the future after bagging themselves places at a leading drama school.
The Academy of Live and Recorded Arts (ALRA), which counts television comedy star Miranda Hart, Holby City actor Jimmy Akingbola and Mistresses star Sarah Parish among its former pupils, has selected six lucky teenagers from Barton Peveril College to study there.
Thanks to a long-standing relationship, academy principal Adrian Hall spent a day at the college, in Eastleigh, auditioning 11 hopefuls and offering six places.
Drama teacher Gemma Watts runs special preparatory workshops for students applying to ALRA, based in London, and other prestigious institutions including the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, and Central School of Speech and Drama.
