FIREFIGHTERS tackled a blaze that wrecked a prefabricated home in the Meon Valley last night.
Nearly 40 firefighters fought the blaze that ripped through the property at Brickyard Lane, Swanmore.
The fire started at 7.15pm and was out by 10pm leaving the single-storey structure badly damaged. A third was wrecked by fire, all of it was smoke-damaged and some 80 per cent by water. The cause was uncertain. No-one was hurt.
Crews attended from Bishop’s Waltham, Wickham, Winchester, Botley and Droxford as well as the special equipment unit from Winchester.
There were lots of animals at the property, including chickens, goats, ducks, cats and dogs, with many in cages and kennels. They had to be moved away from the danger.
