HAMPSHIRE police are hunting thieves who stole several catalytic converters from vehicles in Winchester last week.

On Wednesday, October 13, a white Peugeot Expert van with high visibility markings had its converter stolen between 3.15pm and 4.15pm at the Plantation in Curdridge.

More thefts then took place overnight between Thursday, October 14 and Friday, October 15 where converters were taken from five motor homes at Marquis Motors in Winchester Road, Bishops Waltham.

Police believe the thief climbed over a wall to gain entry into the yard holding the vehicles, which was secured.

PC Stuart Turner said: “We would like to hear from anyone who either saw these thefts taking place, or has any information about those responsible for them.

“If you have seen anyone acting suspiciously around parked vehicles, or if you have any knowledge of someone trying to sell catalytic converters that you are suspicious about, then please get in contact with police as soon as possible.”

Anyone with information on the thefts should contact Winchester Priority Crime Team at Winchester police station on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
