IT is a snapshot of a Winchester family from almost 100 years ago.

Now a relative wants Hampshire Chronicle readers to help her track down some of her long lost family from this black and white photograph taken in 1912.

The picture was taken in the back garden of number 1 Worthy Lane in Winchester by the toilets, which in those days were in the garden.

Sonia Brown, 75, from Oxford, said: “Does anybody know any of these people because my father told me these people are my relatives. I only know his mother and father but the rest I have not got a clue.

“It would be lovely if anybody were to recognise them.”

Picture at the bottom left of the picture is Mrs Brown’s father, Frank Stuart Hasler, who was around 12 at the time the picture was taken. Mr Hasler, a former student at Peter Symonds College who sold wheat and corn, left the city at the age of 28 to work in Oxford.

His parents who are standing behind him are George Hasler, a miller and master cabinet maker who worked in Winchester, and Ethel Hasler. Mrs Brown’s father died aged 80 in 1981.

If you know any of the people in the picture call the news desk on 01962 890755.
