THE hopefuls vying to be Winchester’s next MP will be showing off their green credentials on Thursday, April 22.

Winchester Action on Climate Change and the University of Winchester are holding a debate on the environment.

Residents are welcome to attend, and also to email questions to the candidates in advance of the meeting.

Those taking part are expected to include Steve Brine for the Conservatives, Patrick Davies for Labour and Martin Tod for the Lib Dems The other potential candidates include Mark Lancaster for the English Democrats and Jocelyn Penn-Bull for UKIP. The Green Party is not thought to be standing this time.

The debate will be held from 6 to 7.30pm at The Stripe Theatre at the University of Winchester’s Sparkford Road campus.
