Leave seats for patients
SIR - Over the years I have visited the X-ray department at the Royal Hampshire County Hospital, it has been busy enough on occasion for people to have to stand due to all the seats being occupied in the waiting area next to the reception desk.
Over a month ago, once again I found on arrival that there were three people standing, one with a crutch under his arm.
Those occupying the seats were a combination of young, middle-aged and old; when a single name was called, inevitably one, two or more people vacated their seats, and then some of those standing occupied them.
I wondered why there is not a notice displayed stating that the seats are for patients only', because it does seem unfair that the unfit have to stand for fit ones accompanying patients.
