AFTER one of the coldest starts to winter in living memory, selling ice creams might be considered a bit tricky.
But that did not deter youngsters from Twyford St Mary’s CE Primary School near Winchester having a go.
Children in Sycamore class led by teacher, Claire Williams, made their own recipes for ice cream with a little helping hand from some industry experts.
The youngsters worked alongside staff from Jude’s Ice Cream, which is based at Northfields Farm in Hazeley Road, Twyford.
The independent firm produces a range of flavours, and the children were able to combine them and develop their own concoctions.
Ice creams were then sold at the school on Tuesday afternoon (January 18).
The winning flavour was Planet Choco Balls, a mixture of vanilla, chocolate shavings and Maltesers.
The event raised more than £200 for the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals along with Children in Need.
