THEY may be in their teens but young designers have been getting their first taste of the catwalk.

Students from three colleges in Winchester came together to put on an arts festival including a fashion show.

The work by A-level students from Peter Symonds College, St Swithun’s School and Winchester College was displayed at the city’s School of Art last Friday.

It was part of the Triptych art festival held every year for the last six years to showcase the talent of local 16-18 year olds.

The festival aimed to raise the profile of sixth form talent in textiles, fine art and photography.

Gracie Hawes, 16, and organiser of the fashion show, said: “We were really pleased with the turn-out this year.

“The fashion show demonstrated a lot of dedication from everyone involved.

“The designers made some stunning pieces for the show, and they were really happy with the great reaction they received from the public.

“There is a lot of incredible talent within Triptych, and it was a fantastic opportunity for people to see what we can achieve.”
