THIRTY-EIGHT Peter Symonds students, from 18 different schools, are celebrating their conditional offers from Oxbridge Colleges for this September.

Out of the 21 boys and 17 girls are one set of twins, Sam and Josh Folkard from Thornden School who are both off to Oxford, but different colleges.

From the local Winchester schools there are 10 offers to six former students from Kings' School, three from The Westgate and one from Henry Beaufort.

From the Romsey area four offers have been received by two former students of The Romsey School, and one each from Mountbatten and Test Valley.

From the Eastleigh area, where 10 offers have also been received, Thornden School has the highest acceptance level with nine students receiving offers as well as one former Swanmore student.

Cantell School students, from Southampton's eight offers, are celebrating a 100 per cent success rate with all five of the students who applied receiving offers, one student each from St Anne's, St George's and the Gregg School have also been offered places.

Offers have also been made to former students from Brighton Hall Community College, Burgess Hill, Charterhouse, John Hanson, St Gabriel's School and Skipper Clement Skolen in Denmark.

"We are thrilled that once again a large number of our students have been successful with their Oxbridge applications," says Kalpana Shenoi, teacher in charge of Oxbridge admissions.

"All credit to the staff who teach them and to the hard work of the students themselves. We wish them all the best with their forthcoming exams."
