PERINS School in Alresford has been recognised as a high-performing school and has joined Leading Edge, a national network of secondary and special schools.

Due to the school’s excellent performance last year, Schools, Students and Teachers Network has awarded Perins two Educational Outcomes awards for 2015.

Firstly, recognising Perins in the top 10 per cent of non-selective schools nationally for attainment and, secondly, in the top 20 per cent for progress in the 2015 end of KS4 examinations. This is based on the students' best 8 average point scores at Key Stage 4.

Leading Edge is run by the SSAT and supports schools to raise achievement, develop innovative practice and share practical strategies within and beyond the network.

All Leading Edge schools must demonstrate statistically significant levels of progress and that their students perform above the national average.

Headteacher Steve Jones said: “I would like to thank SSAT for awarding Perins with these fantastic achievements. I am delighted that the hard work and dedication from both staff and students is being recognised. As a school we are continuing to build on these successes and the future for Perins is most certainly looking bright.”

SSAT's chief executive Sue Williamson said: "We are delighted to welcome Perins to our Leading Edge network. It is a credit to the hard work of all of their staff that they have been recognised as high-performing and we look forward to working with them.”
