A WINCHESTER primary school was transformed into a winter wonderland.

Hundreds of children and families got in the festive spirit at St Bede's Christmas fair

Five hundred attended and the event raised more than £4,000 for the St Bede Home School Association. The money will be used to pay for enrichment activities for children.

There was a Santa's grotto and teachers dressed up as elves while the Winchester Round Table got involved and bought their sleigh which will be raising money for good causes to the event.

One of the organisers Sue Wilson said: “It was such a festive event Winchester Round Table brought their sleigh along and created such a festive atmosphere.

"We had such a busy Santa’s grotto and the whole school was transformed into a winter wonderland it was absolutely lovely."
