KING’S Somborne Primary School pupils have raised £1,500 for charity through a class enterprise project.
Year 6 were tasked with devising money-making schemes, which they presented to a ‘Dragons’ Den panel’ comprising governors.
The 16 children then put their plans into action, running activities such as an auction of promises, treasure hunt map, coffee morning and tombola raffle.
The £1,500 will now be divided between a string of causes, including Guide Dogs for the Blind, Diabetes UK and the Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation.
Year 6 teacher Gay Windsor said: “I’m incredibly proud of their ingenuity, commitment and teamwork, as well as the amazing amount of money they had raised.
“As ambassadors of a Rights Respecting School, they were proactive in making a difference to other people’s lives.
“I also want to thank the parents and those who supported the project, which allowed the pupils to achieve so much.”
