WINCHESTER University law students raised over £800 for charity with a ball at Norton Park Hotel in Sutton Scotney.
The event last Thursday, organised by the Student Law Society, supported LawWorks and the Bar Pro Bono Unit which both help people who cannot afford legal help.
More than 100 students and staff attended, alongside lawyers, legal professionals from local firms and the Mayor of Winchester, Eileen Berry, who opened the event.
Holly Sinclair, chair of the Student Law Society, added: “It’s important for students to experience the practical application of law outside of the classroom. We thought that an event such as this would be a brilliant opportunity to raise money for an excellent cause, while networking with professionals and finding out more about careers in the sector.”
