A £5.6 million expansion project at an Eastleigh school is one step closer to finishing.

The scheme at Crescent Primary School started a year ago and will provide 210 additional places.

Children and parents recently had a ‘building site tour’ to see its progress.

Ben Dixon, headteacher, said the school is very excited to use the new facilities. “The process has been very positive,” he said.

“Every opportunity has been created to ensure that the expansion will provide the best facilities for our growing school. This has been based on good communication and a shared desire to create an excellent end product.

“Our children are very excited about the build and have enjoyed the tours and the opportunities to learn about building sites and construction.”

Once complete the school will have seven new classrooms, a new main hall with kitchen and server, new toilets, new entrance space and improved staff areas.
