A Winchester University student hopes to have his independent sitcom sent to the New York Television Festival.
James Newman and his friend Ed Brown are fundraising with kickstarter to cover the costs of the pilot episode, which will take a week to film.
Civilisation tells the story of a group of graduates who claim squatter’s rights after leaving their university house.
The sitcom follows four characters on their quest to avoid the real world.
Mr Newman recently won the Winchester Short Film award for best music video and has had his work shown at the Williamsburg International Film Festival in New York.
If the pilot is successful the duo, who have been writing together since they were 16 years old, will enter it into the New York Television Festival, and possibly make a series.
