SCHOOLCHILDREN from across Hampshire spent a day at the University of Winchester as part of a military families event.
The Creative Forces Day saw 50 primary and secondary school pupils meet students from a military background and take part in creative writing and drama taster sessions.
Dr Terri Sandison, director of lifelong learning at the university, said it was the first event of its kind there.
“We were very pleased with the response from the young people and their schools.
“Our own students from military families shared their experiences with the children, school staff and each other. The ideas we collected from the children and the students will be fed back to schools across the county and we hope to run more of these tailored events in future.”
It was a joint initiative between the university and Hampshire County Council.
