SCHOOLGIRLS from across Hampshire have been encouraged to try engineering based workshops.
As part of National Women in Engineering Day, Winchester Science Centre and Planetarium invited girls aged 12-14 from nine schools to join in workshops, and network with female engineers, on Monday, June 23.
Winchester schools Henry Beaufort and Perins took part, and the day finished with a planetarium show aimed at honouring some of the astronomical advances made by women.
It was arranged by the Women’s Engineering Society to celebrate its 95th anniversary.
