THE Point Youth Theatre has been invited to perform its latest production The Jungle Book at Marwell Zoo near Winchester.
The wildlife park has included the Eastleigh-based youth theatre’s production of Rudyard Kipling’s classic tale in its summer activities programme.
It will be performed daily from Sunday, August 14 to Saturday, August 27 in a specially-adapted area of the zoo.
The venue’s events manager Mark Selwood said: “We are delighted to work with The Point Youth Theatre in bringing such a magical production to Marwell Wildlife.
“The park is a perfect location for the performers and we are happy to be working with such an important local community group.”
The Jungle Book follows the story of Mowgli, the boy raised by wolves, and his weird and wonderful friends.
The version performed by The Point Youth Theatre has been adapted for the stage by Neil Duffield.
Several other shows by the youth theatre are also planned at Itchen Valley Country Park from Tuesday, August 2 to Sunday, August 7.
The production includes a cast of around 80 including performers and musicians.
