A FIVE-VEHICLE pile-up blocked the M27 motorway this morning.
The westbound carriageway was shut at junction five for Stoneham Way following the crash, which happened at about 7am.
Severe traffic was building on the westbound carriageway with delays of up to an hour and 45 minutes being reported.
The vehicles have been cleared but traffic problems remain in the area.
It is not known if anyone has been injured in the crash.
There are also delays on the M27 eastbound between junction two at Ower and the M3 slip road, while significant problems have been reported on the B3354 northbound towards Fair Oak.
On the plus side northbound traffic flowed freely betwen Eastleigh and Winchester with the absence of traffic from the M27.
