A HAMPSHIRE woman who plunged to her death from IKEA's multi-storey car park in Southampton has been named.

The inquest into the death of Ann-Marie Ramsden, from Fair Oak, opened on Christmas Eve at Winchester Coroner's Court.

The 38-year-old from Winchester Road died of multiple injuries following the fall on December 7.

As reported, ambulances and an air ambulance rushed to the store and her body was discovered on the car park ground floor and police guarded the entrance to the car park for several hours not allowing cars to enter after they were called to the incident.

Part of the ground floor was cordoned off with police officers guarding a white tent where it is believed she was found.

Cordons were also in place on the top floor around a white Mercedes car that officers were seen looking inside of and collecting items to put into an evidence bag.

IKEA have said they will be looking into the safety of their car park which towers above West Quay Road.

The inquest will take place on April 26 at Winchester Coroner's Court.
