A HAMPSHIRE college is to provide invaluable live training courses for refrigeration engineers.
Eastleigh College has teamed up with DCI Refrigeration’s state of the art CO2 test plant and training facility, based in Portsmouth, to provide the courses as part of its specialism in training for the refrigeration and air conditioning industry.
Two courses will use the base, which is the second facility of its kind in the UK, and both are available to would-be and existing workers.
The first is in the Use and Safe Handling of Carbon Dioxide, which has been developed in conjunction with the British Refrigeration Association and The Carbon Trust.
The second is a City and Guilds Level three certificate in Carbon Dioxide.
Shaun Creech, Eastleigh College’s refrigeration and air conditioning assessor, said: “Accessing DCI’s specialist facility is a great development for us and the industry.
"The dedicated training we can now offer is vital to ensure expert and safe design, installation and servicing of CO2 systems as the refrigerant is increasingly adopted for its environmental benefits.”
