A MEMORIAL hall in Chandler’s Ford celebrated its 100th birthday today. (WED)

The Ritchie Memorial Hall was built on April 16 1914 as part of The Chandler’s Ford Community Association.

The hall has been used for a variety of different functions over the years, including the American GI dances during the Second World War.

Today it is used by a host of local groups with interests in art, dance, sports and the environment.

The chairman, Terry James, said: “We would like to thank all our hiring groups, users and the management committee past and present for all their efforts over the years which has made this centre the success it is today.”
