A NEW community project in Eastleigh has launched a multi-sensory room.

The project, called Sensory4all, uses new technology in which projected images respond to gestures and movement, enabling users to interact and engage with what they're seeing.

The room is available for everyone, of all ages, but organisers hope it will be of particular benefit to those with disabilities.

The room will also include soft seating and floor pads, a large bubble tube, mirrors, a sensory projector, colour-changing lighting and a multi-media projection system, much of which can be controlled by the users themselves.

The project is made possible thanks to a £20,000 grant from Hampshire County Council.

The room can be booked for exclusive use by individuals, families or groups, or residents can just turn up for Pay & Play sessions.

The room is at Pavilion on the Park and staff there are now appealing for donations of any sensory items in good condition.
