Hampshire bus engineer wins top award

A HAMPSHIRE bus engineer has won a prestigious award.
Steve Prewett, area engineering manager for Go Ahead Group’s Bluestar and Wilts & Dorset, won Bus Engineer of the Year at the Route One Magazine Excellence Awards.
Based at Bluestar’s Eastleigh depot, he joined the company in 2006 and now manages a team of 100 engineers and technicians.
Judges cited Mr Prewett’s passion for performance, presentation and customer satisfaction as key reasons for his success.
Andrew Wickham, Go Ahead south operations managing director, said: “Steve looks beyond the engineering depot environment to ensure that the needs of our customers are first and foremost and are applied to the fleet of 300 single and double deck buses within his remit. I’m delighted that he won against a strong list of six other contenders.”
