A CHANDLER’S Ford woman died at home after falling down the stairs, an inquest heard.
Kathleen Turner, of Acorn Grove, suffered several falls in recent years, previously sustaining a broken collar bone and a fractured spine, a coroner’s court at Winchester heard.
At the inquest on Wednesday (October 31), the court heard how the 89-year-old widow died at some point between 7pm on July 25, and 8.55am the following day, and was discovered by her daughter, Pauline Turner on July 26.
Ms Turner told the court that her mother was a former nurse and was keen to remain independent – rejecting advice from carers not to use a walking stick on the stairs.
Coroner for Central Hampshire Grahame Short recorded a verdict of accidental death.
