A MAN had his nose broken and ribs cracked during an “unprovoked and mindless” assault in Winchester.
The 29-year-old victim was walking in Stanmore Lane, Stanmore, around 1.45am on Sunday (April 25) morning when another male attacked him.
He was punched in the face and then kicked in the ribs once he had fallen to the floor.
PC Nick Hines, of Winchester Police, said: “This was a completely unprovoked and mindless assault with no apparent motive.
“There may have been other people walking home at that time in the evening who may have seen the assault take place and could have information about the suspect.”
The suspect is described as white, in his 20s or 30s, around 5ft 9ins tall, of medium build with short, blonde, shaved hair. He was wearing a blue, short-sleeved shirt.
Anyone with information should contact Winchester police station on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
