A MAN threatened a shop worker with knife following a row over a sandwich.

A 43-year-old shop worker has caught the man in his early 20's trying to steal the food and taken it off him at 8.15am on Saturday (April 3).

Moments later the would-be thief, who is thought to be homeless, returned to the One Stop store in Chandler's Ford and threatened the man with a knife.

Detective Inspector, Toby Elcock, said: "The shop worker in this incident, although not injured, has been extremely shaken up by what has happened.

"Do you recognise the man we need to talk to? If he sleep rough, do you know where?

"Please don't approach this man, but call us and tell us what you know."

Anyone with information should contact Eastleigh CID on 101.
