A DRINK driver caught yards from his home in Winchester has been banned from the road for a year.
Ashley Robert Smith, 28, of Wykeham Place, Stanmore, was stopped by police on April 6 in a 51-reg Vauxhall Astra.
His alcohol reading was 52 micrograms when the legal limit is 35 in 100 millilitres of breath.
Smith admitted the charge, as well as having no test certificate, and was also fined £200 with a £30 victim surcharge and £85 costs, by magistrates in Basingstoke.
