WINCHESTER man Daryl Brimfield must do unpaid work for harassing a local woman.

Brimfield, 25, of Imber Road, Winnall, bombarded the woman with unwanted text messages between August 4-17, magistrates in Basingstoke were told.

He initially denied the charge but later changed his plea.

Magistrates imposed a community order for him to do 100 hours unpaid work over the next 12 months.

They also agreed a restraining order that bars him from going to Braxton House on Winnall Manor Road or contacting the woman, with the order to last until October 13 2019.

He was also ordered to pay £250 costs and an £85 victim surcharge.

Brimfield admitted committing a further offence whilst serving a suspended sentence imposed on February 22 2017. Magistrates did not activate the sentence but ordered it to continue.
