WINCHESTER man Jesse Anthony Leonard has received a suspended prison sentence for attacking a woman.

Leonard, 31, had initially denied assaulting a woman Humble on July 9 but changed his plea.

Leonard, of Spitfire End, Winnall, also admitted breaching a suspended sentence imposed in March for attacking Dennis John Hardy at Frances Sheldon Court, Peninsula Road, West Hill.

Magistrates in Basingstoke imposed a 20-week jail sentence suspended for 24 months and told him to pay a £115 victim surcharge.

Explaining the sentence, the magistrates said the attack on the woman was a domestic assault, in breach of a suspended sentence and there were previous convictions.
