WINCHESTER pensioner Glyn Richard Chalker has been banned from driving for being over the legal limit.
Chalker, 69, was stopped by police on May 27 in a 57-reg car near his home on Thurmond Crescent, Stanmore, magistrates in Basingstoke heard.
When breathalysed he had 87 micrograms of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath when the legal limit is 35, meaning he was more than double the limit.
Magistrates disqualified him for 22 months with the ban to be cut by 167 days if he passes an approved driving course by August 26 2018.
Chalker was also fined £415 with a £41 victim surcharge and £85 costs.
