STATE benefits to Daniel Casey will be smaller for a few weeks.
Casey has been convicted of theft from a Winchester shop and the fine will come out of his benefits, a court decided.
Casey, 38, of Hyde Gate, Hyde, admitted stealing a Fitbit Blaze watch, valued at £159 from O2 on Winchester High Street on May 3.
Magistrates in Basingstoke fined him £80 with a £30 victim surcharge and £20 costs.
