Winchester man arrested following report of sexual attack in Southampton park
A WINCHESTER man has been arrested following reports of an alleged sexual assault in a Southampton park.
Police have been carrying out investigations following the assault in Watts Park, Southampton.
It happened between 1am and 2am Sunday, police sealed off the park to carry out forensic investigations,
Now detectives can confirm they have arrested a 22-year-old man from Winchester in connection with the report of a sexual assault against a 23-year-old woman.
Police have stepped up patrols in the park since the assault and have urged people walking in the park late at night to avoid walking in dark areas, to stay with friends and stick to busy, well-lit areas.
