A WOMAN has been fined £800 for two counts of driving over the speed limit near Whitchurch and in Kings Worthy.

Frances Baxter was proved by single justice procedure to have driven a vehicle on the A34 northbound at Great Litchfield Down at a speed exceeding 70 miles per hour on Friday 15 April in a case at Aldershot Magistrates' Court recently.

The 52-year-old, of Headbourne Worthy, was fined a total of £415 including a fine of £300, victim services surcharge of £30 and costs of £85.

Baxter was also given three points on her licence.

Magistrates did not disqualify her from driving owing to the exceptional hardship it would cause to the residents and employees of her care home and two of her family members.

Baxter also pleaded guilty by single justice procedure for driving another vehicle above the 30 miles per hour speed limit on the B3047, London Road, Kings Worthy at Aldershot Magistrates' Court.

She was fined a total of £385 including a £300 fine and costs of £85.

A further three points were added to her driving licence for this count.
