A KINGS Worthy man has been given more time to pay off a fine from eight years ago.
The Crown Prosecution Service applied to lodge a committal warrant for the non-payment of £825 against Gerald Clay, 48, of Harwood Place, originally imposed on March 30, 2008.
Magistrates committed Clay to custody for 45 days but suspended it to allow him further time to pay.
They told Clay to pay back £785 at the rate of £5 per week from June 2.
