A WINCHESTER woman has been ordered to keep her dogs under control or run the risk of having them put down.
Alice Gill, 42, of Fivefields Road, Highcliffe, admitted being the owner of two dangerous rough-coated lurchers, called Gherkin and Olive.
The prosecution at Basingstoke Magistrates Court was brought by the city council seeking an order that the dogs be properly controlled or destroyed.
The magistrates said the dogs must be kept on leads in public and be muzzled to stop them biting.
The dogs must be controlled by an adult physically able to restrain them and not allowed in any garden unless there are six foot high fences.
Should either gherkin on Olive be transferred to a different owner or keeper, or should Gill move, she will inform the council immediately and give details of the dog's new address and owner.
The order lasts for the life time of each canine, the court ruled. The magistrates also ordered Gill pay £500 costs.
