A FRENCH resident has been disqualified from driving after being caught in a car whilst over the alcohol limit and without a UK driving licence.
James Lancaster, 73, was stopped by police at the Shroner Wood Services on the M3 north of Winchester on December 23, Basingstoke Magistrates Court was told.
Lancaster, of Brillevast, Normandy, admitted driving a Citroen Estate with an expired UK licence.
He was breathalysed and found be just over the legal limit with a reading of 40 micrograms per 100 millilitres of breath when the limit is 35. He also admitted that charge.
Lancaster, who attended court, was banned from driving for 12 months, fined £240 and ordered to pay a £24 victim surcharge and £85 costs.
