A SHOPLIFTER who stole goods worth more than £500 from a Winchester supermarket has been jailed.
Cristian-Adrian Neacsu, 39, was caught at Waitrose in Weeke on August 27, a court heard.
He was jointly charged with Catanlin-Marcel Ghita with taking items valued at £540.88.
Magistrates in Basingstoke jailed Neacsu for ten weeks after he admitted theft, failing to surrender and a breach of a conditional discharge.
Neacsu, of Park Avenue, Chingford, Essex, had deliberately set out to steal with another, after leaving his home area, the court heard.
There was no order for compensation as the goods were recovered. Neacsu was ordered to pay an £80 victim surcharge and a £150 criminal courts charge.
A warrant has been issued for the arrest of Ghita, 39, of no fixed abode.
