Thieves strike twice in city centre
POLICE are appealing for witnesses after thieves struck two homes in Winchester city centre yesterday.
Burglars stole a laptop and five antique silver spoons after forcing entry to a house in King Alfred Place between 10am and 1pm.
A house in Hatherley Road was then burgled at around 1.20pm. Officers said a man wearing tracksuit bottoms and a beanie hat with a green bag was seen at the site and urged anyone with information to call 101 or the anonymous Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111.
