AN investigation is continuing after a fire broke out at Winchester Prison.
The fire in a cell is thought to have been started deliberately by a prisoner.
Fire crews from Eastleigh and Winchester were called to the prison at 8.30pm on Saturday.
They soon brought the blaze under control and paramedics then treated a prisoner for smoke inhalation.
A spokesman for the Ministry of Justice said yesterday: “The incident was quickly brought under control and no one was seriously injured. The matter is being investigated by the prison and the prisoner faces disciplinary action.”
