A MAN has been arrested following an alleged assault in Winchester city centre.
Following a dispute between two groups of men, a 26-year-old man suffered bruising when he was struck in the face.
A 28-year-old man from Winchester was arrested and is currently on bail pending further enquiries until December 13.
The incident occurred between 11.20-11.45pm on Thursday, November 14 near the Bakers Arms on the High Street.
PC Caz Bulpit, from Winchester police station, said: “Many people were in the area at the time of the incident. I would like to speak to any independent witnesses to the incident between these two men and their respective groups.”
