A COMPANY has made a contribution to blanketing the UK in poppies.

Serco chief executive, Rupert Soames, planted poppies in a memorial garden at Serco’s headquarters in Hook, with a Royal British Legion silent soldier.

This was in support of the Ribbon of Poppies project to mark the centenary of end of First World War.

The project has the aim of covering the UK in a 'carpet of crimson' in 2018 to remember all those who served and mark the centenary of the end of the Great War.
